The Greater Ottawa Fastball League will have seven members teams this season, with some added games to the schedule.
The seven teams from last season all indicated that they will return for the 2024 season as full members: defending champions Orleans Rebels, finalists Kars Aces, Micksburg Twins, Quyon Flyers, West Carleton Electric, Manotick Brewers, and Osgoode Chiefs.
The League also decided at the annual meeting that Los Caballos, a local Ottawa-based team that won the Blackburn Men's Fastball League the past two seasons, will be accepted as an affiliate member of the GOFL. They will play each of the seven member teams once throughout the season schedule and the games will count in the league standings.
In addition, West Carleton Electric U20 will play member teams of the GOFL in exhibition games throughout the season to help in their preparation for the 2024 campaign. These games will be part of the league schedule but will not count in the league standings.
Also at the annual meeting, the member teams confirmed that while the final game of the GOFL playoffs last year was never completed, the Orleans Rebels will be recognized as 2023 playoff champions, earning their first I4C Consulting Trophy.

Conner Hopper of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League's West Carleton Electric and WC Electric U20 has been recognized as a recipient of the Ottawa Sports Award for softball in 2023.
Here is the write up from the Ottawa Sports Awards page:
Softball – Conner Hopper: In 2023 Hopper was selected to his first national softball team and represented Canada at the U18 Men’s Softball World Cup. The West Carleton catcher and centre-fielder has power and speed at bat and he recorded two hits and two RBIS before injuring his shoulder on Canada’s way to a bronze medal finish. His ability to excel on both domestic and international stages highlights not only his individual talent but also his commitment to elevating the performance of his teams.

Team Canada U18 Men's started off the World Cup tournament in Hermosillo, Mexico with two wins. The started off with a 5-2 victory over Czechia, followed by a 18-1 thumping of Singapore.
They have a big game tonight (Monday) at 10 p.m. EST versus also undefeated host Mexico. The game will be livestreamed (fee applies) on GameTimeSport.
Local lad Conner Hopper from Fitzroy Harbour had an excellent start to the tournament for Team Canada, going two for three with two RBIs, a walk and a sacrifice bunt, as well as a highlight reel catch in centrefield. Unfortunately for Conner, he suffered a shoulder injury in the game versus Singapore and his tournament appears to be over.
