Micksburg defeats Valley

from Scott Conroy

The Micksburg Twins travelled to Carp on Thursday to face off against the home side Ottawa Valley A’s. Rain came down briefly just after 7 pm but the clouds passed and there would fastball. Joran Graham had the ball for Twins and Ben Broek countered for the A’s.

Micksburg struck early in the top of one. Matt McIntyre walked to start the game and was driven in two batters later with Joran Graham’s RBI single. With Kyle Jackson taking a walk two batters later Scott Conroy was able to cash in Jackson and Graham on a double. A misplayed ball plated the fourth run of the inning on a Connor Moss groundout.

The A’s wouldn’t score in the bottom of one. Mcintyre started another rally for the Micksburg team with a one out double. RBI singles in the inning by Riley Hennessy and Corey Costello would score three runs for the Twins.

That would be all the scoring for the game. Ben Broek settled in and only allowed three hits the rest of the way. Joran Graham went all five innings allowing only two hits. Final score 7-0 Twins.

A rained out game is rescheduled for next Thursday August 17th at 8pm in Micksburg with the Ottawa Valley A’s making the trip west.

Joran Graham heads out to Michigan Saturday for the ISC World Tournament with the Kingston Axemen. Best of Luck Jo!
