Kars - WC game halted mid-game

The second game of the Greater Ottawa Fastball League doubleheader in Fitzroy Harbour on Tuesday featured West Carleton Electric vs the Kars Aces. Unfortunately, with the score 7-3 in the top of the seventh for the Aces, the lights went out. The game is suspended and if necessary for placements will be completed later in the year.

Andy Barber threw for West Carleton while Luke Severson had the ball for Kars.

Kars got on the board in the first with Nick Ellis hitting a home run to score Ian King who had singled.

After several scoreless innings, West Carleton responded with three in the sixth. Jeff Cavanagh doubled to bring in Jon Daley who had singled and Jeff Barber who had walked. Cavanagh advanced to third on a throw to the plate. JCav the scored on Trevor Barton's sac fly to right.

The Aces responded in the top of the seventh. Kurtis "Gary" Summers solo shot to lead off the inning tied things at three. Three consecutive walks loaded the bases. After a grounder erased a man at the plate, two subsequent bases loaded walks scored two for Kars. Chad Milne's double to left scored another two runs to make it 7-3 when the lights went out.
