Quyon and West Carleton tie at 3

The Quyon Flyers and West Carleton Electric tied 3-3 in Greater Ottawa Fastball League play on Thursday night in Quyon.

Trevor Lahey went the distance for Quyon, while Jeff Barber had the start and had relief from brother Andy for West Carleton.

The home team put the first run across in the bottom of the first inning. Dennis McCleary singled to lead off. He took second on a wild pitch and was bunted to third by Shawn Laframboise. Matt Greer's infield single score the speed McCleary to make it 1-0.

The Flyers scored another in the third on Greer's solo home run.

Quyon added a third run in the fifth inning. Laframboise doubled to start the inning, and made it to third on a wild pitch. He was driven in by Joe McCleary to make it 3-0.

Lahey had a no hitter through five, but West Carleton finally got some hits in the sixth. Steve Cavanagh hit a double to right-centre with one out. Trevor Barton's infield single put runners on the corners. After a strike out, Mike Cavanagh came to the plate and hit a three run shot to tie things up at three.

Andy Barber came in on relief in the sixth for WC and struck out the side in both innings he worked.

The Electric couldn't get any base runners in the seventh, with a high light reel play by Matt Greer at shortstop stealing a hit from Shawn Rebertz.
