Saturday action at the GOFL Final Weekend Showdown

The two 9 am games were played this morning at the Greater Ottawa Fastball League Final Weekend Showdown in Stittsville, before the rain started pouring. Remaining games for today are now going to be played on Sunday in Stittsville, starting at noon.

I4C Victory 9 Kars Aces 2
Dan Loney started off the game for I4C with a solo home run and Victory kept going after that to earn the 9-2 win in the undefeated game.

Andrew Putnam had the pitching win while Brad Porter took the loss with relief from Luke Severson. Don Cox also had a home run for I4C. Kristian Knapp hit one out for Kars.

I4C will now advance to the final, scheduled for 2 pm on Sunday.

Micksburg Twins 6 Quyon Flyers 1
Corey Costello earned the win for Micksburg while Matt Greer took the loss for Quyon.

Micksburg scored in the first, with Corey Costello walking and being brought in on Chad Costello's two run homer.

Quyon got one back in the fourth as Dennis McCleary scored on brother Joe's RBI single.

The game remained 2-1 until the top of the seventh. Two run homers from Chad Costello, his second of the game and Mike Moss made it a 6-1 lead. The Flyers could not respond in the bottom of the seventh.

Quyon was eliminated with the loss. Micksburg will play Kars at Noon on Sunday to determine who advances to play I4C Victory in the GOFL Final.
